STEM Activity

posted Jan 23, 2018, 11:35 AM by Jami Miller
Goodfield Elementary students recently participated in a STEM activity.  The students were assigned to a multi-age group and given a ziplock bag with items to build a sled.  They had a pair of scissors, 4 straws, 4 pipe cleaners, a piece of cardboard, 10 pennies, and a yard of masking tape.  The students worked together to design their sled and answered questions as to why they chose their design.  They then tested their sled and made modifications if desired.  Then they reflected on how their design worked and how their group worked together.  At the end, the students showed their design to all the other groups.
